The latest World War 3 update is coming, whether you’re ready for it or not, in Operation Redline. This will be the game’s first major seasonal content update and will add China and South Korea as battlegrounds, as well as more weapons, vehicles, and strikes when it launches on December 8th.
It’s been a slow turnaround since the game originally launched in Early Access all the way back in September 2018, where it had a relatively poor reception and was subsequently sent back to the drawing board. That has apparently begun to pay off with the upcoming launch of Operation Redline, which has a lot going for it.
For instance, two new maps are coming to the game: Gobi and DMZ. Gobi is a Team Deathmatch map that encompasses land across China and Mongolia, as the Gobi Desert is the sixth-largest desert in the world. You’ll have to deal with storms as you fight through an ancient temple. DMZ is a Tactical Ops map set in the Korean Demilitarized Zone, which the border barrier separating North and South Korea. You’ll be doing your best to survive soldiers on both sides, land mines, razor wire, heavy armaments, and more as you try and secure objectives in this deadly no man’s land.
As for new goodies, Operator Blueprints will allow you to wear gear based on both the “Republic of Korea’s 707th Special Mission Group and China’s People’s Liberation Army Ground Force (PLAGF).” Once you’ve chosen your gearset, you can use the South Korean K2C1 Assault Rifle, or the Chinese QBZ-95 Assault Rifle. Vehicles range from China’s ZTZ-99 Main Light Battle Tank to South Korea’s K21 Light Infantry Fighting Vehicle or the IMUGI, which is an Unmanned Area Vehicle.
Last but not least, there will be an Operation Redline Battle Pass that will offer 50 tiers of both Premium and Free rewards, which include new customization options for Operators, weapons, strikes, and more.
