Stream Hero!, a brand new mobile RPG project from Japanese hobby company Goodsmile, reveals its first piece of art

The legendary Japanese hobby production company Goodsmile has revealed their plans to release a brand new mobile RPG titled Stream Hero! This new game is light on the details currently, but does involve a pretty dashing anime art style with some super colourful vibes and a comic book-like aesthetic alongside that too.

Goodsmile is most known for producing some excellent anime figures of varying characters, and has become a household name for just about any anime fan. While their name is on this new project, they are technically simply a publisher while the company Aiming is actually developing Stream Hero. The original premise of the game’s creation is credited towards Akihiro Ishihara, who is most known for not only his work within developer Cygames on Uma Musume, but also for producing the Idolmaster series of games.

This means that the developers behind Stream Hero! have quite a pedigree behind them, which makes it easy to get excited about Stream Hero. Other than this news and the simple announcement, there’s not much else to work with in terms of details. We have yet to see any official gameplay or even hear about plot details, so it’s likely it’ll be a while before we see what it’s really all about.

But, if you’ll allow some speculation on my part, I’m willing to bet that this game is cashing in on the trend of virtual YouTuber content like Hololive and its ilk. Simply given the name, I imagine this game has something to do with the act of streaming to the internet, and that might be why all of our protagonists featured in the above picture have a sort of idol-like vibe about them.

Other than this news, we’ll just have to wait until we hear more official news before we can dig deeper, so stay tuned for more of that!
