Steve Lacy Performs on “Saturday Night Live”

Musician Steve Lacy made his “Saturday Night Live” debut on the Nov. 5 episode of the long-running sketch series which was hosted by Amy Schumer. The 24-year-old is having a moment right now thanks to his smooth, throwback vibes and catchy songs. For his inaugural appearance on the Studio 8H stage, Lacy played two fan favorites from his second studio album “Gemini Rights”: “Bad Habit” and “Helmet.”

Both performances felt stripped back and effortlessly cool, just like Lacy himself. The set was relatively low-key, with purple light surrounding him as he jammed out to “Helmet.” Meanwhile, the singer enhanced the already energetic sounds of “Bad Habits” by bouncing around the stage as he let the song do his talking for him.

Appearing on “SNL” was clearly a big deal for Lacy. On Oct. 27, he let his fans know he was shifting his tour schedule around in order to make his musical guest appearance happen. “Ok good news and bad news,” he captioned a photo of his “SNL” announcement on Instagram. “Good news is..swipe right..bad news is.. i have to move some shows around for me to do it more information soon sorry in advance luv u .”

With his first “SNL” appearance officially a success, Lacy will be heading back on the road to continue his “Give You the World Tour.” Check out his performances below.
