Star Wars: Jedi Survivor topped European game sales in April

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was the best-selling game in Europe in April.

Despite not being released until April 28, the game topped the monthly software sales chart ahead of fellow EA title FIFA 23, according to GSD data published on.

The research firm’s data covers physical software sales from major European markets and digital sales from most leading publishers.

Star War Jedi: Survivor’s launch month sales were up nearly 6% on those of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which was released in mid-November 2019.

The action-adventure game was also the best-selling title in the United States in April, market research firm Circana reported earlier this week.

Dead Island 2, which charted at No.2 in the US last month, came in at No.3 in Europe, selling about a third fewer copies than the Resident Evil 4 remake managed when it was released in March.

While seven of April’s 15 best-selling games were new releases in the US, the only other new entry to make the top 20 chart in Europe last month was Minecraft Legends at No.19.

In total, 10.4 million console and PC games were sold across Europe in April, which was down 5.3% year-over-year.

On the hardware front, which doesn’t include data from Germany or the UK, console sales in April were up almost 58% year-over-year.

PS5 jumped 144% compared to last April, Nintendo Switch sales were up almost 38%, and Xbox Series X/S sales rose by over 19%.

However, compared with March, only Switch sales increased in April, partly driven by the launch of the Zelda Switch OLED model.
