Pokemon Go has added new XXS and XXL sizes for a few Pokemon

The scales of balance have tipped on Pokémon Go, but not because of anything major happening, it’s just the addition of new sizes. Niantic has just announced new XXS and XXL sizes for certain Pokémon, with the Pokédex being updated to reflect the changes.

Beginning today, three new Pokémon will be available in sizes that were previously nonexistent – XXS and XXL. Currently, Poochyena, Mightyena, and Mawile will be available in these sizes alongside their Shiny variants. When trainers encounter these Pokémon in the wild, they will feature new animations that showcase their size.

The avatar page will also display the new sizes as XXL Pokémon are visually much larger than normal Pokémon, while the XXS ones are significantly smaller. This change will be visible when adventuring with them as a buddy too. As I mentioned above, the Pokédex now detects size as well. Catching three of the same Pokémon will divide the specimens into smallest, lightest, and heaviest.

And finally, new celebratory messages will pop up when players break certain records. Finding an XXS or XXL Pokémon or even other XS or XL creatures will cause a message to show up every time a record is broken. However, trainers will need at least three of them to set a record.

Niantic also recently launched Season 9: Mythical Wishes which is being spearheaded by the Pokémon Go Tour 2023 which is taking place in Hoenn. And the new Community Day event goes live next week, bringing back all the Pokémon that were featured over the last two years.

This is just the start, though. Even more Pokémon should be available in these new sizes as time goes by. Catch the three new ones now by downloading Pokémon Go for free by clicking on your preferred link below.
