Platformer Earthblade Revealed From The Makers Of Celeste

Earthblade is a new platformer from Extremely OK Games, the same team behind the beloved indie-hit Celeste, a beautiful and expertly designed platformer that sets a huge precedent with Earthblade now on the way.

A trailer showcased during The Game Awards 2022 showed off some gameplay, after the studio first revealed it was working on Earthblade back in 2019.

Both Celeste and Earthblade seem to share the same pixel art foundation, with more stylized character drawings for when speaking to others, however this time it looks like Extremely OK Games has taken it even further with more detailed characters.

And though it’s not clear as to what all the movement abilities you’ll have in Earthblade, it looks like there will be a sort of double jump, and unlike Celeste you’ll need to do some fighting this time around.

You can check out the trailer for yourself, here.

Unfortunately for eager fans, you’ll need to wait until 2024 for Earthblade to launch, and currently it’s only slated to release on PC. Celeste was also a PC launch first, and was then later ported to PS4.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see Earthblade follow a similar path.
