Paizo, the publisher of Pathfinder and Starfinder Roleplaying games, has announced that its latest project will take players to the mystical region of Tian Xia. The new adventure path, Season of Ghosts, will be available in October of this year and will take players on a horror-themed journey through the haunted land of Shenmen. The adventure path will span four volumes and take players from 1st to 12th level, beginning with the rainy summer and ending in the spring.
In 2024, Pathfinder will release two new books from its Lost Omens line: The Lost Omens Tian Xia World Guide and The Lost Omens Tian Xia Character Guide. The former covers the diverse nations and cultures of Tian Xia, while the latter provides new rules options for players to bring their characters to life. Both books are written by a talented team of writers, including Eren Ahn, Alyx Bui, Banana Chan, and Emma Yasui.
The Lost Omens Tian Xia World Guide will provide an in-depth look at the history and lore of Tian Xia, from the elemental hegemony to the return of Hao Jin. Players will be able to explore the many nations and cultures that inhabit the region, including the undying emperor of Yixing and the explosive rivalry between the dancing gods Mugura and Nrithu. The book will also include a bestiary containing the continent’s monsters, from the ferocious, four-horned aoyin to the aristocrat-eating yeongno.
The Lost Omens Tian Xia Character Guide will introduce six new ancestries and numerous backgrounds for players to create new characters inspired by the region. Among the new ancestries are samsarans, wayangs, and the new tanuki ancestry. The book will also include numerous character options, including skill feats for elemental Tian medicine and a new magus hybrid study.
