After news of a PlayStation release coming next week, Neon White is now rumored to be heading to Xbox.
After six months as a Nintendo Switch and Steam game, speedrun shooter Neon White now appears to be heading to the other big home consoles. We received word that Neon White will make the jump to PlayStation on December 13, and now there’s a new rumor that says Neon White will leap onto Xbox as well as Game Pass.
The new rumor is actually an older rumor that Nick of the Xbox Era Podcast forgot about. Hearing about the PlayStation release jogged Nick’s memory about a message he received regarding Neon White’s future plans.
“I was told that Neon White also should be coming to Xbox and should be launching into Game Pass as well,” said Nick. “I know a lot of people really really enjoyed Neon White, and I saw people spamming that Twitter account saying ‘what about Xbox, what about Xbox?’ I was told a little while back it is coming to Xbox and that it should also be launching into Game Pass.”
Nick didn’t have any dates, but he speculated that it would arrive in the second half of December to coincide roughly with the game’s release on the PS4 and PS5. A slightly delayed release would allow Xbox some time to release its own message regarding a port of Neon White.
The speed-running anime shooter seems like the perfect match for Game Pass. Although Neon White is a lot of fun and made a big impact on several The Gamer staffers (and might even make it onto several game of the year lists), it’s not exactly a huge game at between 12-22 hours to beat. That might not be enough to convince price-conscious gamers from buying it outright, but there’s no reason not to give Neon White a try if you’re already subscribed to Game Pass.
Neon White is getting additional features with its release on PlayStation 5, including 120 fps graphics, reduced loading times thanks to its solid-state drive, and DualSense integration with its adaptive triggers. Neon White hits PlayStation on December 13, so stay tuned for an Xbox announcement.
