Monster Hunter Rise Is Coming to Game Pass on January 20 2023

Monster Hunter Rise has officially been teased by the official Xbox DACH account on Twitter. The account confirms that the game is coming to PC and Xbox Game Pass, with an official release date of January 20, 2023. This means we can expect to see Monster Hunter Rise arrive on Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC by January 20, 2023, with the potential for PlayStation 4 and 5 versions down the road too.

Monster Hunter Rise is easily one of the most demanded entries in the series that has been exclusive to the Nintendo Switch and PC for the most part of its release. With the addition to Game Pass, even more, players will be able to experience the game for free but also be able to enjoy the game on a whole new console.

Here are the official blog posts from Microsoft and Sony.

The new versions support:

  • 4K60FPS and 1080p/120FPS options on current-gen consoles only.
  • Will release on the Xbox One, Xbox Series, PS4, and PS5.
  • The Xbox Version will allow for cross-progression and cross-play with the PC version via Game Pass.
  • The PS4/PS5 versions do not allow for cross-progression or cross-play.
  • Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak will release in Spring 2023.

While the console range isn’t clear, it is possible for the game to Xbox One and Xbox Series consoles. While the announcement for PlayStation isn’t out yet, we can also speculate that the PlayStation 4 and 5 versions will soon join the fray.

With the advent of the Xbox Series and PS5 consoles, it is highly possible that we will see 60FPS or 120FPS options on the consoles, with the previous generation console versions hosting a 30FPS average which is the standard for the series, but if these are going to be ports of the Nintendo Switch version, there is a chance for the games to perform better.

Monster Hunter Rise Release Date & Platforms

With the release date of January 20th, 2023, fans won’t have to wait long for the release, especially when the title is also released so close to Dead Space.

The game is potentially expected to release on the Xbox One, Xbox Series, PS4, PS5, and Game Pass.
