After being accidentally revealed earlier this year, the new launch trailer also officially reveals The Hulk as the game’s final playable character. The trailer is jam-packed with conflict and infamous Marvel heroes, such as Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Blade, and more. Make sure to check out the official launch trailer for Marvel’s Midnight Suns below.

DUALSHOCKERS VIDEO OF THE DAY

The launch trailer reveals Marvel’s Midnight Suns in style, featuring a litany of heroes most fans probably can’t wait to get their hands on. The video opens with Lilith overpowering Spider-Man, Dr Strange, and the all-new Hunter with ease. After defeating our heroes, Lilith then takes Dr Strange’s home and transforms it into a portal, inviting her demon army to come and take over.

The Hunter is an integral part of the story, being both Marvel’s first-ever customizable superhero and antagonist Lilith’s only child. Both of these aspects will weigh on the story heavily, giving the player’s character an ambitious backstory coupled with unique customizations. The Hunter’s powers are split up into three categories: Dark, Light, and Power, allowing players to spec their Hunter up as they see fit.

Firaxis, the studio behind hits like XCOM and Civilization, is the main developer behind Marvel’s Midnight Suns. This may come as a surprise to some fans, as Firaxis is best known for its turn-based combat and no Marvel game has ever used that system — until now.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns will feature a combat system brand-new to the popular superhero franchise. Players will fight their opponents in turns, using randomly drawn cards as their abilities. Each character, including the Hunter, will have a unique set of abilities tailored to their skills. The developers over at Firaxis also show what happens outside of battle, when the player gets the chance to hang out with the cast of heroes.

When you’re not fighting off Lilith’s demon army of Lilin, you can hang out at the Abbey — the home of the titular Midnight Suns. Players will have the option to talk to their fellow heroes, choosing from different dialogue options that influence the character’s relationship with the world around them. Be careful though, each hero has their own way of doing things, so you may end up stepping on someone’s toes.
