On Friday, the Marathi actor Ravindra Mahajani (77) was discovered dead in his rented flat located at Ambi village in Maval taluka near Talegaon Dabhade in Pune.
According to Senior Inspector Ranjit Sawant of Talegaon MIDC police, doctors have stated that Mahajani might have passed away three days prior. Sawant also mentioned that Mahajani had been living alone for the past eight months.
Senior Inspector Shivaji Gaware of Pimpri Chinchwad police mentioned that the neighbours became aware of a foul odour emanating from Mahajani’s flat, leading them to raise an alert. Gaware stated that the police team broke open the door and discovered Mahajani’s deceased body inside the flat.
The body was later sent to Talegaon Dabhade Hospital for further investigation.
Mahajani was known for his roles in movies like ‘Mumbaicha Fauzdar’, ‘Zoonj’, and ‘Kalat Nakalat’. His son, Gashmeer, is also an actor.
