Higher education provider upGrad’s international arm to hire 500 new employees


Despite the ongoing layoffs season, Indian edtech startup upGrad, which provides online higher education services, is planning to hire 500 new employees for its international arm upGrad Abroad.

The development is part of it strengthening its business footprint and driving further growth in various departments, including sales, marketing, technology, and product.

Notably, The recruitment will mainly be fresh talent directly from college campuses and universities to accelerate employability.

“We have built a strong business model that is minimising geographical barriers not just for our learners but also for the back-end teams. Hence, it’s critical for us to get more of such young employees on board who are keen on international exposure and can work in sync with the brand’s mission of easing the skilled talent mobility for several global economies,” upGrad Abroad President Ankur Dhawan said.

upGrad Abroad said it aims to achieve profitability within the current year and surpass an impressive annual gross revenue of Rs 500 crore during the fiscal year 2023-24. To accomplish these targets, the company is strategically establishing strong business pockets across the country, leading to enhanced operational efficiencies and cost optimization, it said.
