Grand Theft Auto VI could arrive sooner than expected

It’s not like GTA V is dying or anything. The game population is as healthy as it gets, which is a lot to say for a game that was released in 2013, but the community of fans has been asking for a new installment in the series for a long time. Rockstar Games is yet to officially announce Grand Theft Auto VI but the latest Take-Two financial report contains some statement that seems to point to a release in 2024-2025.

“In Fiscal 2025, we expect to enter this new era by launching several groundbreaking titles that we believe will set new standards in our industry and enable us to achieve over $8 billion in Net Bookings and over $1 billion in Adjusted Unrestricted Operating Cash Flow. We expect to sustain this momentum by delivering even higher levels of operating results in Fiscal 2026 and beyond.”

Impressive numbers due to an impressive game?

Although GTA is not the only source of revenue for the company, the wording chosen for the statement and the huge gains can only point to a release that exceeds the possible expectations of a normal game. Grand Theft Auto VI would definitely fill that gap, and we could be looking at a release that would happen between April 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025. If we take into account how hungry for certain titles the fans are nowadays (Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has sold 10 million copies in barely 3 days), we could be looking at the biggest release in the story of video games.

The popularity of the Grand Theft Auto series is so huge that is unlikely that Rockstar Games is able to hide any details about a possible release of Grand Theft Auto VI for too long. You will be the first to know if anything is leaked. Meanwhile, its predecessor still offers one of the best open-world experiences released to date, and you can buy GTA V cheap with our comparator anytime.
