Bit Builder lets you collect resources and build a bit-style map, out now on Android

Indie developing studio HoboGames has officially launched Bit Builder, a retro-style arcade puzzle game on Android devices. Now available to download for free on the Google Play Store, the game features an old-school 8-bit aesthetic to bring on the waves of nostalgia along with a challenging building mechanic that will put players’ brain prowess to the test.

In Bit Builder, players can expect to dive into an auto-generated world where they’ll need to unleash their building skills to explore a vast map and gather resources. These building resources, once collected, can be used to connect islands that will, in turn, provide the player more avenues to explore the world around them.

The game features 30 levels that will test players’ skills, as well as a text-based plot to follow. There are also 10 characters for players to collect and unlock as they progress through the game. There are 2 endless modes to tinker around with as well to ensure a varied gameplay experience. Plus, based on the trailer, it appears that the background music is very much in tune with the 8-bit pixel-art feel of the game, adding to the overall retro charm of the title.

If you’re curious about it and are keen on giving the game a go for yourself, you can download Bit Builder on the Google Play Store for Android devices. More content is supposedly coming soon as well, so it’s worth giving it a try to see what’s in store in the future. You can also take a little sneak peek at the embedded clip above to get a feel of the game’s vibes, visuals and mechanics.
