A life of good or evil awaits in Verdict Guilty

Ahead of the release of Street Fighter 6 in the coming weeks, and amongst a resurgence of arcade fighters such as the River City franchise, it’s time for PixelHeart’s Verdict Guilty to vie for your undivided attention.

Releasing today on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch consoles, a full seven years after the PC release (took your sweet time, Verdict Guilty!), this fighter puts you into the shoes of either a cop or criminal – the choice is yours – on the corrupt streets of Neo Seoul.

The South Korean city is drowned in neon lights and cyberpunk aesthetics, making it the perfect backdrop for equally colourful 2D fighting. Verdict Guilty unashamedly looks like it was ripped out of Capcom’s ‘ideas list’, but we are certainly not complaining, if it gives us the chance to batter our mates once again, and boast victory.

As well as melee combat, Verdict Guilty also makes use of pistols, machine guns and powerful grenades to turn the tide in a particularly tense bout, aside from the impressive special moves on offer from each character. And speaking of characters, Verdict Guilty has eight to choose from, each with their own story mode tale to progress through.

A full list of features present in Verdict Guilty, courtesy of the game’s Steam page, includes:

  • Easy to pick-up and play, designed for non fighting fans and beginners also,
  • Eight unique fighters to choose from,
  • Choose to fight on the police side or as a criminal,
  • Story mode, unique for each character,
  • Easy to perform special moves,
  • Unique gun combat, employ machineguns, pistols and grenades,
  • Fully animated and detailed backgrounds,
  • Awesome music by Bossfight and Truong-Son Nguyen,

So, whether you are a solo player, or want to challenge a friend in two-player local multiplayer, Verdict Guilty has you covered. It is now available for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Switch and PC. To pick up a copy for Xbox, the Xbox Store has your back for £7.49.
